Hi Musgrove.
I see some AddThis buttons at the bottom of your posts, like this one: http://www.vibrantnation.com/groups/family-relationships/blog/letters-to-lloyd-halloween-memories/
From the code on your page, I can clearly see that it’s not being added by any of our plugins. Some themes add our buttons onto pages themselves. Your theme might have preferences where you can turn that off. Some third party plugins will add it to. We don’t keep track of them.
Also, the sidebar on your site isn’t from AddThis. It’s SumoMe.
Thanks,
Julka
Yes, I’ve put the SumoMe buttons there to replace the AddThis buttons, and removed the AddThis plugin a while ago. But the buttons are still there, which is the problem, as you noted. The theme is a custom theme, and as I stated, I’ve gone through the code in the header, footer, page and single, where it may/would be and don’t see anything unusual. But the Addthis script is still being called from somewhere.
I’ve searched around online for help as well, and this seems to be a common problem. It’s like installing malware. However no one has really posted a decent solution or where they found the code that was hiding.
Hi Musgrove.
There are many third party plugins that include our JavaScript. You might be using one of those. We don’t keep track of them.
I’d suggest checking for settings for your other plugins for anything to do with “sharing”. Another option is to disable all your plugins and slowly turn them back on to identify which one is adding AddThis tools onto your pages.
