404 Error, Website not found– Hacked

This is COULD BE just due to a corrupted plugin in you root folder. It can be easily fixed through the file manager in the control panel of your HOSTING website. I use hostgator for example, so mine is called CPanel. All hosting provider have that. So after entering you CPanel, scroll down and click on “File manager”. It will then prompt you to enter what you would like to access to, make sure you choose to access the “root files”. You will be then redirected to a window that looks very much like file explorer in windows. You can see all your website data stored in various folders. All you need to do is to find the corrupted plugin and delete it. To do that, I recommend you to create a new folder and name it whatever you want, then cut and paste all the plugins in the plugin folder into that new one. Then go to your website, you should be able to open it now and the 404 error should have gone away. If that is the case, then start copying the plugins back one by one until you catch the culprit.

There are in a folder called “plugins” which you can find in your website root files. You can find the link to your control panel together with your user name and password in the mail your hosting service sent you when you registered your domain.
