    We are not familiar with the Loco Plugin.

    Using poEdit, we can translate language strings.

    When we save, this file is created:
    bp-simple-events.mo

    Then we change the file name to:
    bp-simple-events-en_US.mo

    And upload it to this directory:
    /wp-content/plugins/buddypress-simple-events/languages

    And our translations appear as expected.

    Because we use English, the file name needs en_US.
    For German, you would use de_DE.
