WordPress Website to WordPress Hosted Import Issues

Hi, I’ve been using a blog on wordpress.com for a while, and decided that I would take the plunge and host it on my own site.

The problem I have is that my XML import doesn’t add all the posts, even though the XML file contains them all. I can only get up to December 2006, and the file contains up to December 2007.

I even edited the XML file and stripped out the 2006 posts, and tried to import, however, I got no errors, and no posts appeared to be imported.

I checked out my database, and the wp_posts table only contains 2006 stuff.

It’s driving me mad! I have searched for similar solutions, but there don’t appear to be any obvious ones.

It’s only about 300K, so size isn’t the issue. I don’t allow comments, so there are no spam issues either.

Any help would be truly appreciated!
