Prevent add_rewrite_rule being flushed

I have written a plugin that creates rewrite rules upon activation using add_rewrite_rule

All works great until the Yoast SEO plugin is updated and the rules are flushed.

To reinstate it is a simple task of reactivating my plugin however is there a way to fix my rules and prevent them being flushed?
