Why does /wp-content/plugins/wpdiscuz/utils/temp/ path return 404 error?

    Hi, I have installed the plugin “Wpdiscuz”, always in my logs there are a lot of 404 error about this path “/wp-content/plugins/wpdiscuz/utils/temp/” I tried to prevent that on my “404 File/Folder White List” but the problem doesn’t dissapear.

    This is my White List:

    /favicon.ico
    /robots.txt
    /apple-touch-icon.png
    /apple-touch-icon-precomposed.png
    /wp-content/cache
    /browserconfig.xml
    /crossdomain.xml
    /labels.rdf
    /trafficbasedsspsitemap.xml
    /wp-content/plugins/wpdiscuz/utils/temp/

    What do I do?

    Weird, it should work fine assuming you are using the latest iTSec plugin release (5.1.1).

    Perhaps you should figure out why /wp-content/plugins/wpdiscuz/utils/temp/ gives a 404 and then fix that …
    Does that path actually exist ?
    If it exists is there anything in the utils folder or is it an empty folder ?

    @dwinden thanks for your response.

    I use the latest iTSec. I can’t understand why the path gives me the error.

    The 404 error is like this “/wp-content/plugins/wpdiscuz/utils/temp/eXzSy-1449798744.png”

    The path exists and the folder contains .png files and .txt files. They are about the captcha, but recently I disabled Captcha in Wpdiscuz plugin and it didn’t work, the path still gave 404 error.

    I don’t know why the white list doesn’t work. I think it could be a solution…

    Oops, seems like I did not receive an email of your last post.

    It looks like specifying a folder in the 404 whitelist does not work as expected …

    Since there are several similar topics opened on this forum I’ll have a look at the iTSec plugin 404 Detection code.
