Using different JavaScript on home page

I wanted a different look for a navbar on the home page and I was able to tweak the Javascript file that controlled it to get the look that I wanted. But being a PHP and JS newbie, I am not sure how to have to revised JS file work on the home page and then revert to the original file on other pages.
I am thinking that I could add some kind of “if/else” something to the functions.php file but not really sure how to get started. Could anyone point me in the right direction?
