    Hello,
I recently moved one of my websites to a new server and I am receiving the following message:

An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.

    Enabling Debug mode, I get

Warning: An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums. (WordPress could not establish a secure connection to WordPress.org. Please contact your server administrator.) in /home/agelessaviation/public_html/wp-admin/includes/plugin-install.php on line 83

I have been trying to solve this problem on my own with numerous Google searches, but not coming up with the correct solution. I disabled all of my plugins, even changed themes, yet I’m still stuck with the same errors.

This website recently had malware, but I have had Sucuri clean it out and they are now monitoring it.

I have even tried to update to 4.4, but it appears the site doesn’t realize there is a new version yet. I do receive these errors in the update page:

Warning: An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums. (WordPress could not establish a secure connection to WordPress.org. Please contact your server administrator.) in /home/agelessaviation/public_html/wp-includes/update.php on line 302

If useful, the website url is http://www.agelessaviationdreams.org/

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

That means your server has an outdated version of openssl. You’ll have to ask your hosting provider to update it. 1.0.2e is the current version.

I have contacted the hosting provider to get this issue resolved.
