I know I could try deactivating each one in turn, but it takes so long to get it to reload each time I’ve been hoping someone has an easy answer.

I would deactivate WPBakery Visual Composer to start
Deactivate ALL plugins and switch to the 2015 theme. Then check to see if the problem has been removed.
Tried deactivating ALL plugins, and that was a disaster… lost all of my formatting… couldn’t even get back a place where there were elements to drag and drop. Was ready to jump out the window in a panic. Reactivated everything and thankfully got back to where I started. Don’t know how to switch to the 2015 theme (or even what that is)
okay, tried deactivating visual composer… unfortunately, without that, I’m dead, I am not a pro at this… my site builder abandoned me, but with visual composer I am able to actually manage the site.
You can switch themes via Appearance -> Themes. Longer term, you may want to review Appearance_Themes_Screen.
For the time being, please deactivate all plugins. switch to the 2015 theme and then, via Appearance -> Widgets, try to drag a Text Widget onto a sidebar.
I am having similar issues. No drag & drop. Product post, page editor all showing blank (unable to edit anything) but front end working fine. Can see the pages. posts, text, images, videos etc but back-end nothing. Screen options not available, Google analytics not functioning. Seems like a total mess. I never had any issues in the past with WP updating. If I knew this in advance I would never dare to click that update button. I have four sites with different themes and different plugins. Updated 2 and are totally in mess, other 2 I will not update and working perfect. I can honestly say that this wp update is a disaster and has caused me lots of pain. Can anybody suggest How to get back to the previous version?
