I’ve been looking into using Typekey as the authentication for people who leave comments. There’s no reason for people to have an account specific to my blog to leave comments.
But I can’t seem to find anything here or via Google on how to integrate Typekey into WordPress. Can such a thing be done? And if not, why not?
Hi, I work with the team at Six Apart that makes TypeKey (as well as Movable Type and TypePad), and there are TypeKey plugins for WordPress, but I’m not sure they’re up-to-date. Your best bet might be to just get an OpenID plugin for your WordPress blog; Since we made OpenID, TypeKey is an OpenID provider, and that’s an easy way to let people sign in to comment on your site from other services as well.
