I’m not being able to see any icon there, did you remove it or am I missing something?
Generally we should be able to remove border around that image with some custom CSS.

I’ve decided to use the standard icons instead of uploading my own, and the problem is solved.
I do have another problem now though,
Is it possible to get just some plain text on the homepage using the free virtue version?

Hey again Leonie,
That would depend on the reading settings you’re using. If you want to display static page with some content instead of posts on your home page you can go to Settings -> Reading and set your “Front page displays” to static page and select the page.
In case you want to have post in your home page that would require either editing theme templates and using conditional tags to show it only on your home page or suing jQuery and appending a div with some text there.
