v1.3 slideout sidebar – closing toggle?
-
I just upgraded my version of Dynamic News Lite (that I use as a parent for a number of child theme sites) and was surprised to see a new slideout sidebar.
I see there is a slideout toggle + but is there a closing toggle? I looked at your live sample and it doesn’t seem like there is a closing toggle but I wanted to make sure that I didn’t miss it in my child theme.
I do see how it slides closed when any area is clicked/activated but I’m not sure that is obvious to a lot of folks. Perhaps adding a closing toggle to the top of the sidebar?
Great theme… I use it a lot!

Hi there,
Thank you for sharing your feedback, we highly appreciate it.
We will add some improvments for the sliding sidebar feature with the next update. It is based on your feedback and from other users.
– The plus icon will get a “Sidebar” label, similiar to the “Menu” label the navigation icon has
– The sidebar will get a closing toggle at the top
– There will also be an extra theme setting which allows to switch back to the old layoutCheers,
Thomas from ThemeZeeWhere is this theme setting to get rid of this sidebar sliding that does not work on single posts or news feed pages, only on the front page? This theme worked so beautifully before that was introduced, now it is a mess. WP says the last version I was running was 1.2.7 — I need to go back to that version Please.
You can deactivate the sliding sidebar feature on Appearance -> Customize -> Theme Options -> General Settings.
Cheers,
ThomasJust installed the latest update, and thanks for adding a sidebar-close toggle. Awesome! I also love the fact that we can switch back to the old sidebar option. I know a few of my clients won’t like the slideout sidebar.
Again, great theme… thanks!
Thank you so much for your kind words! Great to hear you like the latest update.
We highly appreciate it if you leave a review for Dynamic News 🙂 https://wordpress.org/support/view/theme-reviews/dynamic-news-lite
