    At various times I notice a range of IP addresses added to the Whitelist field. For example, I can clear out the Whitelist field and save. Then import settings from a site that also has the Whitelist field cleared. But when the import is finished there is a set of IP’s in the Whitelist field. Below are those IP addresses. Can you help determine what these are and why they are showing up?

    ,198.61.176.9,23.253.56.59,23.253.62.185,104.130.217.172,23.253.32.180

    Thanks,
    Norm

  • Hi Norm,

    Are you using iControlWP with your sites. Several of those IP’s you listed are associated with that product.

    Hi Brian. Yes, I am using iControlWP. I was concerned that something malicious was being inserted into the whitelist and I couldn’t tell from the IPs. Would it make sense in a product enhancement to have the Whitelist IPs in a table with a comment field next to each? That way we could associate some type of justification for the entry. e.g.

    198.61.176.23 ->> entered for xx
    104.130.217.172 ->> iControlWP
    etc

    Also, it the list of Whitelist IPs included in an import action?

    Norm,

    Thanks for the suggestion. I have sent this on to the dev team, with reference number FB1143. I can’t promise that every suggestion we get will make it into a release, or when that might be, but every suggestion we get is evaluated carefully and considered seriously. A member of our dev team may or may not reach out to you here to ask for more detail.

    Thank you for helping to make Wordfence great!
