Upgraded and all seemed good but then when I tried to upload images I didn’t get the old “link to thumbnail/page/file” option and now when you click on the image within a post it prompts for a login

check out diversity.net.nz to see what i mean

    help please!

On further investigation it seems that WP is automatically assigning a URL to the image that is the url for the uploader, not for the image folder

    Make sense???

Yes it makes sense. When you use the uploader for posts/pages, the files will be stored under wp-content/uploads.

That’s where they’re stored but what happened to the previous versions simple “link to thumbnail/file/page” option on image downloads – that was better, simpler and quicker

    ideas anyone?

Are you entering a title for the images? The image upload required a title in order to get the correct link for your images. It’s something that I think the devs know about, but may not. Do a test image and make sure to put something in all the fields when you upload, and see if that works.

For background purposes and to help those helping you, might I ask what version you upgrade from?

tgiokdi – that didn’t help – i still get no buttons like in previous versions that allow link to page/file/none

Handysolo – not sure which version i went from sorry

Your screen looks diferent from mine (2.3.2), I only have a “browse all” option and there the option to link to page/file/none are being displayed..

    Thread Starter benkepes

    (@benkepes)

    that’s what I don’t get

which of the wp files would be corrupted to give me what appears on my screen????

have you tried deleting all files in wp-admin and upload a fresh copy of wp-admin of 2.3.2?

    (@benkepes)

yep – deleted and re ftp’d wp-admin and that fixed it

    cheers!
