• Hello,

I have a question regarding 2 of my WordPress blogs.

    http://learnhowtodunk.info

    http://xmastreesite.com

I didn’t go to my dashboards since a long time and went yesterday.

I could access my dashboard without problems. And these websites are fairly visible on the net.

But for both of them, at the top of my dashboard, I can see these same error sentences.

    – Warning: fsockopen(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in /home/seb1977/public_html/xmastreesite.com/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php on line 1148

    – Warning: fsockopen(): unable to connect to http://www.wpunique.com:80 (php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known) in /home/seb1977/public_html/xmastreesite.com/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php on line 1148

    – Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home/seb1977/public_html/xmastreesite.com/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php:1148) in /home/seb1977/public_html/xmastreesite.com/wp-includes/option.php on line 748

I don’t understand because the sites were working fine until now and this is the first time I see that.

Is something to do with my template, which by the way are different from each other?

Do I need to update my sites with WordPress version 4.3.1? I didn’t do it yet because I don’t want to risk more mess.

    Thanks for your help,

    Sebastian

  • you site is not upto date.please update your wordpress and also update your template.

this will cause you because your wordpress/template is updated but one thing remain old.so therefore error caused.

update both template and wordpress.otherwise it will be a great chance for hackers to hack your website.

so according to my suggestion update both templates, plugins, and wordpress.

    Hello heart2hack,

    Thanks for your answer.

I updated everything that I could. WordPress and plugins were updated. But nothing invited me to update themes.

I still have the warning but the sentences changed a little.

    – Warning: fsockopen(): php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known in /home/seb1977/public_html/xmastreesite.com/wp-includes/class-snoopy.php on line 1148

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the default theme for your version of WordPress to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Ok, so by deactivating all plugins, I found the problem.

It was with a plugin called WP Unique. It was not supported anymore.

Thanks again for your help guys.

    Sebastian

    great to hear that 🙂
