remove the image mask by commenting out the
<span class=”skt-featured-image-mask”></span>
in the: front-featured-boxes-section-php
go to wp content folder, themes folder, advertica-lite folder, includes folder

I had the same problem and tried making the code you mentioned a comment.
Now I’m really new to this, so I might have done it wrong.
I just put / on either side of it
so
/<span class=”skt-featured-image-mask”></span>/
and i did that in the 3 places where it showed up in the boxes section php document.
For me, the white boxes didn’t dissapear, they just flipped downside.

Go to appearance>customize>home page settings>home featured box.
Where it says ‘First Featured Box Link’ put in the url you want it to go to.
Same goes for ‘Second First Featured Box Link’ and ‘Third Featured Box Link’
You can change the images and text there too.
