Unfortunately there is no way to do modify the date ordering without custom coding, but regardless of that, events should be displaying chronologically to begin with if it’s an event view.
It sounds like a bug is preventing the proper ordering of events on your site – I would recommend first posting your system information here, which you can do as described in this article: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/sharing-sys-info/
