I have been having issues with contact form 7. I upgraded to the latest version of WordPress and the latest version of contact form 7 and still have the issue.

When I submit the form, there is an error “Failed to send message…”. I checked in the error log and the only errors are a whole bunch that say error “3 args: /usr/sbin/sendmail -t -i”. There is nothing else in the log, just many lines that say that and reference the page it was submitted from.

I have tried changing the sender’s email address to an email on the domain, as well as the form submitter’s email. Not sure if this is relevant, but email for the domain is hosted by gmail. You can see the form here: http://goo.gl/4jgOe7. It is the same with all forms on the website. They used to work in the past exactly as they are… This is slowly killing me. I’d highly appreciate your help.

You need an SMTP plugin. https://wordpress.org/plugins/postman-smtp/

Hi, the thing is this was working for about a year and only recently started. I’ve tried playing with the from email address, and otherwise gone through the list. I’ve also spoken with the host and they tell me it’s an issue with the plugin

I’ll bet that’s because Google recently changed the security setting on your account.

You’re just guessing at solutions when you don’t even know the problem. The Email Log in Postman will tell you definitively what’s wrong.

You don’t work in IT, do you? If you did, you would know system admin and network support never know why something breaks and their answer is almost always “reboot it” or “its your fault” 😉 You can ignore them. You will find your answer here.
