• Hi, I want to change the permalinks on my posts (brand new wordpress site, with domain, hosted by and setup on wordpress) from:

    website/Y/M/D/postname

    ..to:

    website/postname
(posts as subdomains, as they feature as sticky posts on homepage and I want them to feel/look like static pages rather than blog posts)

I can’t find a ‘Permalink’ option under Settings in the Dashboard and have tried the following link:

    website/wp-admin/options-permalink.php

..but get “You do not have permission to access this page.”

Can anyone help? Apologies if this is my bad e.g. a matter of being a newbie/having to get into all the backend extra software and technical knowledge malarkey in order to fiddle with such things

    Many thanks,

    Jools

  • Hi Jools,

is this a site in wordpress.com ? or self hosted? the latter with admin access should let you change your permalinks

    Hi dimitris33,

Thanks for your post. It’s a site in WordPress.com. Does that mean I can’t change the structure/presentation of permalinks?

From what i see there is no option for permalinks, but you can double check that in the .com forums.
