• Apparently GoDaddy is having issues with WordPress. After trying to fix what I thought was my problem, I called in to open a support ticket and found out it was a known issue for a few hours know with a current ETA of 24 to 48 hours.

Sweet – glad I wasn’t planning on catching up on posts or doing any site maintanance during the holiday break this week / weekend while things are quiet.

In case it might still be your problem also check –
    ftp – OK
    web console – OK
access web pages not db driven pages – OK
Turn on the error log, access your WordPress site, then read the error logs and see a ton of there errors
WordPress database error MySQL server has gone away for query

    Happy New Year 2008

  • Yup, same problem for me, and it was also confirmed by GoDaddy.

What was this 99% uptime market pitch again?

Same problem here as well, i called godaddy and they told me it should be fixed within 2 hours and that was at 8 am eastern, this sucks.

Could somebody say exactly what the issue is? I use GoDaddy and am not seeing any problems on my sites.

It has to do with WordPress, MySQL and GoDaddy – the error logs are full of
WordPress database error MySQL server has gone away for query

    and such errors

I do not have any other sites with GoDaddy that use MySql, but the MySql and PHP based db tools seem to be working.

err.. I was wasting my time fixing the “error” too until I read this

Yeah, I was wasting my time “Fixing” the error too until I read this.. Thanks for posting this!

Me too, I was about to re-upload my site and the old database. Called them and they say that godaddy has issues with wordpress right now

    seem to be ok now.

I can access everything on my site now except plugin.php ??? Is this a GoDaddy problem or is it a problem on my end?

I can access it with no problem, but it is very slow, not sure why.

Yep – same here and several other places I’ve seen.

I can not access my plugins page either. I think they upgraded the WordPress version becuase i don’t see that little nag screen asking to update.

They upgraded? Are you using one of the webhosting tools auto install and update bundles?

If you can – get off of all of their preinstalled versions and do it yourself – cuteFTP, download the bits from here and be in charge of your own bits. It does require some technical work, but better to know what you have for your own benefit.

I honestly cannot think they that auto update those that preinstall though. That would be a pretty big leap.

I am having this issue again

I’m having the same problems. customer service person said it was my problem, they only provide the platform. they said it was because I needed to optimize my tables.

I optimized and guess what… same problem. I’m moving to another host.
