Hello,
I wanted to follow up with you regarding this question. I’ve noticed many blogs have the option of adding just a few recent posts to their home page and have static items as well.
For example, like gemmajaneadventures.com.
Is there a way to do this in Customizr? I would like to have a static map image and then add recent posts at the bottom. My site is passportandplates.com.
Thanks in advance for your assistance!
Did you try the Recent Posts widget? Appearance>Widgets
Hello,
I did but the format doesn’t match the theme. Is there a way to make it show up the same way it does on the blog page?
Thanks!
OK, make sure you’ve updated to 3.4.14. Then you can use standard Customize>Content>Front Page>Choose Content and Layout>Front page displays=Your latest posts. You can click on Set the number of posts to display here link.
Or did I miss the point?
Hi,
Sorry – maybe I’m not explaining myself well.
Currently on my site, I have a static home page with a map and text. http://passportandplates.com
Below that, I would like to show a few recent posts in the same design / format that it shows up on the blog – the same font, thumbnail, and title.
So my question is – is there a way to add the recent posts simply as a section within a static page? OR is there a way to make the home page the official posts page and add some static design elements?
I tried using the recent posts plugin on the static home page, but the design doesn’t match the theme and I’m not sure how to make it match.
Thanks in advance!
Sorry – maybe I’m not explaining myself well. !!
Firstly, set up the Front Page as Your latest posts.
Then try this Snippet to add a new Widget Area and use the Text Widget to add your static HTML.
Hi,
Yes this is exactly it, thank you!
I noticed this only works if I have the featured pages enabled. Is it possible to do this without enabling featured pages?
Thanks!
