No index for specific images

Hi! I’m looking for a solution to give my content editor a simple option to exclude specific uploaded images from Google search (ideally, a checkbox with the image). I know how to set noindex for all images, and how to include the image URL in robots.txt, but am looking for something simpler that a person who is content editor could easily handle. I’m thinking perhaps there is a way to allow the editor to assign images to a category as can be done with posts? (So the category might be “excludefromindex” or something like that.) Many thanks!
