I just updated to the latest beta and was playing around with the oEmbeds, which are pretty cool so far. I didn’t necessarily like putting them in my blog because I do a lot of writing from my phone and aligning them with HTML and CSS with my phones autocorrect was a pain.

Now that WordPress is taking it to the next level with these oEmbeds, will the post editor receive any upgrades to align these elements? I did notice that you can edit it after placement, but the popup dialog does not offer very much customization beyond changing the URL.

  • Hey there

    The short answer is maybe.

You’re not the first one to ask this. There’s a ticket on Trac for this feature request: https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/31688. If more people find this useful and someone writes a patch for it, why not?

FYI, we mark posts that have trac tickets as resolved for sanity. It lets mods and volunteers know we don’t have to jump in and find an issue. You should follow the discussion on trac. You can click the ‘Watch’ button on the trac ticket (it’s near the bottom) to get email alerts. If you need to log in, it’s the same ID/password as you use for the forums.
