What is the proper way to customize the shop loop? I want to create an archive page that contains products within a specific product category and have a certain attribute. I also need to separate the results by sub-categories, but I can probably handle that part. I just can’t seem to figure out the right way to tackle altering the actual loop.

The templates are located at:
wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/templates
The loop template is archive-product.php, but it calls other templates in the directory for various sub-tasks.

This page tells us where to put customised templates so they won’t be over-written by updates:
https://docs.woothemes.com/document/template-structure/

If your theme already has template overrides, you will need to create a child theme for your custom templates.

Thanks lorro. I already customized the template but was looking more for how I modify the actual loop query if that makes sense?
