    Hi all,

When I am searching for Taea ry (our nonprofit org) the google snippet will say: Taea – Just another wordpress site.

I downloaded and activated the Yoast plugin and changed the tile and metas category (homepage title: Taea – Finland’s NGO). However, Google is not updating the snippet. What can I do?

    Thanks so much!

  • Martin,

It’s up to Google to update their index with new information. They must re-crawl your website for that, and the schedule is up to them again.

All you can do for now is wait for them to update it. Yoast’s plugin helps optimize your website, but it has no control over Google. Keep in mind, even your titles and descriptions are simple suggestions to Google. If Google deems it necessary to show automatically generated title and/or description based on user’s search query, they can.

    Cheers,
    Viktor

Viktor is correct. However, you often can speed Google up, by “nudging” them in the correct direction, using Fetch as Googlebot: http://kb.yoast.com/article/108-fetch-as-googlebot
