sidebar \edit in customizer issues

When I go into widgets have no way to add new or update existing widgets. The widgets I set earlier (years ago) still are present but i have no way to edit them or add new ones. When I click “Manage in Customizer” i get the following (see below) I have tried r-installing WP 4.3. Please advise how i can correct this issue.
