    I changed the password to my gmail account because it had a special character in it. Unfortunately, I am still getting the “Could not Authenticate” error.

    I have the SMTP Host set to: smtp.gmail.com
    SMTP Port set to: 465
    Encryption set to: Use SSL encryption
    Authentication
    Username: myGmailAddress
    Password: myGmailPassword

    array(19) {
    [“authenticate”]=>
    string(35) “SMTP Error: Could not authenticate.”
    [“connect_host”]=>
    string(43) “SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host.”
    [“data_not_accepted”]=>
    string(30) “SMTP Error: data not accepted.”

    I do not use my Gmail account that much, but i tried sending email from it and it all appears to work fine.

    Is it time to abandon this pluggin?
    Please advise.
    Thanks!
