"Not a valid WordPress Plugin"…

    I have tried two different WordPress plugins that won’t install with the error message “This is not a valid WordPress Plugin”
    I downloaded them from this site, so why the error?

    Were you uploading them by FTP?

    Or did you try to install them from within WordPress dashboard > plugins > add new?

    I’ve installed plugins many hundreds of times and never seen that error message. Googled the message: nothing came up. Which makes me wonder whether there’s something else going on and this is nothing to do with those plugins.

    Maybe share a screenshot of that error.
