• Hello everyone, I have a question about “expired” scripts.
I wanna know how and why some scripts/plugins get “broken” after some new WP updates, what’s the cause of this things(mostly).
The reason I’m interested in this is simple, I don’t want my scripts to get “broken” after some release. I know, of course, I can prevent the WP auto-update, but I hope you got the point of my question and you’d tell me why is this happens and what are the best way to prevent scripts get “broken” after some WP updates.

  • Hi sleadeav

this is true, sometimes when you update WP plugins / scripts / themes break. Why this happens is because technology moves on and so the developers are introducing new functions /features in WordPress. The web is also changing (Chrome, Firefox etc) so again developers have to change their code.

Before a WP update the authors of plugins / themes have to update their code too.Usually they offer an updated version if there are any incompatibilities.

Best way to prevent problems is to stay updated for new versions of your plugins and contact their author when new WP versions are released. You can also have a staging site to test updates.
