custom function for overriding "apply for job" button text?

Is there a custom function for changing the default “apply for job” button text? I know I can create a different version of the template but it would be even better if there were a handy custom function for this.

I’ve been through the documentation and didn’t find anything.

You can use the Say What plugin to make simple string changes like this:

Use the text domain “wp-job-manager”.

I appreciate the pointer, but is there a solution that doesn’t require a third party plugin (and therefore increase the number of variables to mange for legacy support/conflicts, etc.)?

Yeah, you should be able to acheieve the same effect by “translating” that string into a different “language” using this guide:

acknowledged but there’s no existing custom function to use? that would really be the most efficient route and easiest to maintain across updates.

This sort of thing is exactly what the translation functions / plugins are for, so no, there’s no custom function outside of those to translate all of the strings.

Acknowledged and thanks for confirming. The translation option requires much more work so it’s disappointing to see there isn’t a custom function, but good to have confirmed. Many thanks.
