• Metadata imports only keywords, but no title or description, while it is all there in the exif/iptc information within the image. Looks as if the rest is even stripped from the image, because when I use bulk import metadata even the tags dissappear. Anyone else having this problem?

@jack – Are you re-sizing your images on upload?

Yes, but it also happesn when I add them through php, and the original images are being saved as .backup files for download purposes afterwards.

    Google Translate @guther 😉

This is also happening on my website.
To upload new images, the Nextgen was not storing the descriptions of the images metadata.
I looked at wp_ngg_pictures table and the field “description” was NULL, but the image file had description and all other metadata.

On the page that lists all the images in a gallery, it could see “Alt & Title Text / Description”, where only the “Alt & Title Text” was filled correctly, but the “Description” field was empty.

So I did a downgrade for the nextgen version 2.0.66.37 and this version works perfectly. All metados are stored in the table correctly. And appear in the fields “Alt & Title Text / Description” as well.

@jack – With the latest release of NextGEN Gallery, if you import the metadata for the image(s) does that correct the issue?

Is there a new beta available? If not, I’m using the latest version I think (2.1.15) and it’s only importing the tags.

But I’m very puzzled about this, because this is the info inside the image: http://i.imgur.com/7mRz0Hb.jpg

Nothing of this is imported, except the tags.

Jack – Please send us a Bug Report for this latest issue on your site (http://nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please reference this topic) so we can get a better look under the page for this “new” problem.

We may need temporary log in (and FTP) credentials, again, for your WordPress installation, please consider those for your Bug Report, too.

    Thanks!

Thanks cais, I will. I’m also a Pro user, but because I’m moving away from the pro functions (temporarily, and Becky knows all about this), I thought I’d ask this here.
