• This one’s got me stumped. The domain is http://www.ptbradley.com, I’m running 4.3.1, using the latest version of XTheme by ThemeCo. Anything I try to do with the comments in the dashboard – approve, reply, trash, whatever – the change doesn’t “stick”. Approving a comment makes the comment flash and change color to blue, but a couple seconds later it changes back to red. Trashing a comment seems to work, but refreshing the comments page shows the trashed comment back in the list.

And, just to help a bit, I’ve already tried disabling all plugins. I haven’t switched themes, but I’m using this same theme on multiple other sites and not having issues. Any help is appreciated!

    – Your currently used theme is not in the wordpress.org/themes/ directory.

    – Please contact the developer directly for support with your question. You’ll be more likely to find a good answer from them, for they have the access to its code. Forum volunteers are not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why your commercial theme or plugin is not working properly. The vendors are responsible for supporting their commercial product. These forums are for free themes available in the WordPress theme directory at wordpress.org/themes/. Thanks for the reply, Tara. Forgive me if I’m a bit under-informed, but how can a theme affect the WordPress admin side of things? I mentioned the theme just in case there might be any recognizable issues, but the issue is with the way the dashboard is interacting with the comments. I can’t reply or edit comments from the dashboard. The “Reply” and “Quick Edit” links simply do nothing and clicking the “Edit” link loads a dashboard page with the words “invalid comment ID” at the top.

    Thoughts, anyone?

Seriously? No one even checking on this? Has no one encountered an issue where the dashboard comment management doesn’t work properly?

to rule out any plugin/theme specific conflict, try:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – switching to the unedited default Twenty Fifteen theme for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue
