I have read your post multiple times, but would appreciate your patience while I ask you few questions to further understand what you are trying to achieve.
The confirmation is sent only when “Double Opt-in” is enabled. Since you have already disabled it in order to enable the “welcome email” option, can you let me know the exact issue you are facing?

i’ll try to explain it better:
i added the checkbox to our contact 7 form.
People who get in contact with us should have the possibility to subscribe as well.
Right now that’s what i have:
I set the double opt-in to yes – because otherwise the welcome-mail will not be sent automatically. My mailchimp subscription list has the auto-welcome-mail option enabled.
but: the mail that is sent is not the welcome mail, its the subscription confirmation.
THEN the entry is made to our subscription list.
what i want to happen:
i want people who enabled the subscription-checkbox to be in our subscription list (what actually works as well, when i set double opt-in to “no”) AND receive the welcome message.
But i’ve tried to disable the double opt-in (so there’s no confirmation, but direct subscription to the newsletter) and the entry to our subscription list is done, but people won’t receive the welcome mail.
to me that doesn’t make sense, that people are subscribed when i disabled the double opt in – but i can’t send them the welcome message. if i ask them again if they are really sure to subscribe i’m sure they wouldn’t click “yes subscribe me” again.
