• alright so here is the problem…

me and my friend logged in into his wordpress account (username: mydiy, address: mydiypersonaltrainer.com) and it worked fine at the start. I clicked in settings and looked around, then i went to click somewhere else but the website was down. Ever since our login details DOES NOT WORK. We are 100% certain that the username and password is correct, so its not that. The address only half works and only as far as the homepage, everything else is dead. Every email that we get ever since then gives the address with two “L” instead, like this –>mydiypersonalltrainer.com<– so obviously i changed that somehow by accident.

Can anyone help me at all? is this a common problem? i mean, if i have the wrong email address it should not block my entry to the account, otherwise how else am i gonna fix the goddamn thing? please help i can’t think of anything else to do.

PS: you should not need to register just to get assistance from wordpress, whats that about? what if (just like now) i cant login and need assistance back into my account? someone should fix that.

One: you aren’t getting assistance from WP. You’re getting it from volunteers that would like to try to help you out of your mistake.
Two: how can we keep track of all of these threads if they aren’t attached to a specific individual? Hence, you log in as a forum user. We don’t think that’s a lot to ask.

Visiting your site, I would guess that you’ve accidentally changed your site or WP address in Settings > General. Your email address doesn’t set your page urls.

You need to change the urls back to what they were before (without the extra ‘l’). Have a look at this page which has detailed instructions for doing that.

Don’t be put off by how much info that page has. Read the intro paragraphs, and then look specifically at the section I linked you to: Edit functions.php. It’s just a few steps, but be sure to take it step by step.

That page has links about ftp if that’s new to you. If you still aren’t sure how to access the file, ask your web host to help you.

ok… what if i do not have access to the FTP side of it?

Then you can ask your web host to help you get that access, or to take care of it for you. Some are quite helpful.

If you can log in to the hosting account, you can use File Manager there. If you can’t log in, contact the person who is authorized to do that.

ok I shall do that, thanks.
This has been annoying me since yesterday.

Sorry you’re having such a problem with your site. I know how frustrating it can be to have what seems like a tiny change bring down the whole thing. Good luck!
