  • 1) where are you seeing this message
    2) is there any more to the message
    3) go to your site’s error.log (an apache file) and see if there is more detailed information on the error.

    1 – right after after login, it’s just a completely blank page except for the message itself. Really, just plain text!
    2 – Unfortunately, not at all 🙁
    3 – Excuse my inexperience, but how do i dot that?

    Again, thanks for all the help you might provide.

    The apache error log is on teh server. Depending on the softaere on your hostt it could be anywhere. If you have cPanel, you might have a section fro logs that shows the error log.

    you might need to contact your host and have them help you find the erroor log.

    Ok, I have researched it and it seems, as absurd as it is, that my provider doesnt let its user access the error.log files for my type of hosting, at least until you directly contact them. Unfortunately, today they are closed. Any other idea?

    backup your site and move to a new host.

    seriously or wait till they open

    :)) Ok, I’ve just opened the ticket. I will report as soon as they provide me with the error file.

    I’ve just spoken with them. Unfortunately, my wordpress installation is based on Windows (I know, its not supported) where, to quote my provider, “error log files don’t exist”. Sounds strange, but of course I wouldnt know.
    So i’ve been trying several things, like switching the theme, disabling plugins and all the usual, but the error does keep appearing. IF I create a subscriber account, and only then, that user can login without experiencing the need to refresh. But another amdin account immediately has to.
    I am honestly starting to think I’m better off waiting for a new version of the CMS, hoping for a spontaneous fix, or…?

    edit your wp-config.php file and add
    define('WP_DEBUG', true);
    and see if anything else shows on the screen

    AND I’d suggest backing up all your files and the database and finding a new host
