I second that.
This is the first time I’m using this plugin and it’s awesome. However, I was wondering why I can’t reorder rules. I have to reorder and reimport all the rules if I need to do it.
Yup. Not sure if John doesn’t read the forum or if he’s just tired of me asking the same question over & over! We had the functionality is 2.3.6 but it seems it’s gone forever. Really limits the plugin for any advanced regex use π
JOHN DO YOU READ THESE POSTS?
Please comment so at least we know you know we really need this sort feature.
THANK YOU

My client’s site stopped working when we upgraded from 2.3.16 to 2.4.2, and we had to downgrade the files to 2.3.16 (and re-add a DB table) in order to get it working again. Not cool…
This “feature update” wasn’t mentioned in the changelog, and is pretty vital for many WP sites.
Additionally, I don’t know if it’s the plugin, or WP itself, but I’m not able to re-order redirects, or even see the positions, when configuring the redirects. It’s only in the DB that I can see/edit the position values.
Yeah it’s really weird. I don’t know if the plugin author is just selectively blind whenever this topic comes up ( I have started 3 threads about it, with no luck)
With all the other features he’s recently added, I just can’t imagine this is a tough re-add. Even just the jQuery Sortable UI would probably be good enough…
I think 2.3.6 was the last version that had sortable redirects so that’s what I have to stick with for any old sites. It’s crazy. I’m tempted to bomb the thread list with a new topic request every hour π

Sorting is a necessity to use regex redirects.
Have you tried posting on the Github Issues page? https://github.com/johngodley/redirection/issues
Developers don’t automatically get notifications when new support posts are submitted on wordpress.org, but they usually do on Github. π
@dalton – thanks for the link! I added my comments to the existing flood of people wanting to see this. Still baffled that other features have been added but this has not. I just can’t believe it’s that tough – plenty of other plugins use native WP item management and still have drag & drop sorting.
