New Theme Shortcode Issues

    Hey Community-

    I have a quick question that might have a quick answer;

    When I switch my theme to something new I’m having issues because of something in the shortcode. Can I roll back to the default shotcodes and just rebuild what i want from there to better suit the new theme? I have no idea what my old web dev did in the coding that is disrupting the merge to a new theme, but I really have no time and trying to figure out what…

    Any/all info will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi,

    What theme have you switched from? If a theme adds shortcodes to the WP text editor (which some commercial themes do), when you switch themes then all you are left with in the editor is a load of shortcode that doesn’t do anything. If this is what has happened in your case, then unfortunately the only thing you can do is edit each page and strip out the shortcode, unless the theme provider has supplied a way around this.
