Slider "continue reading" arrow not showing

On my slider where I have content written the “arrow symbol” is not showing up. It says this: →

ugh…when I copy and past what it says and then post this question the arrow shows up. What the heck! Let me type it out by hand: &rarr (with a common after it)

I know nothing about coding so the simplest fix would be appreciated!
