missing mraid.js errors
-
Hi,
I getting a number of 404 errors related to /mraid.js not found. Does anyone know how to fix it ?Thanks

you haven’t given enough information to get any help
1) what version of wp?
2) what theme and version?
3) have you disabled ALL plugins at teh same time – does the issue exist
4) what happens if you swap to a different theme?
5) What is the exact errror message?Basically it is a 404 page not found, looks like this:
http://mywebsite.com/category/postname/mraid.js
http://mywebsite.com/postname/mraid.js
Disabling all plugins and switching to a different theme is out of the question.
mraid.js (Mobile Rich Media Ad Interface Definitions) is used for ads.The file is usually located on a mobile device, don’t know why it causing 404 on my website. My question is do I need to install it on WordPress too ?
1) You can always swap to a different theme and test, then switch back
2) same with plugins – disable them, test then re enable them.
3) from what I see mraid.js is pushed to the user from probably a plugin
4) what is your permalinks set to
5) what changed before this started happening? What was updated? If the site was working and then started having this problem, something changed and that something is probably the issue. The fact that it is named at the end of the html address leads me to think that is could be a permalink issue, so note what you currently have,(take a screen shot) then swap to the default and see if te error occurs. Then swap back to what you currently have (reference the screen shot you took)
Right now I wish I could disable you from posting in this thread because you have no idea what you’re talking about. Probably spamming the posts here left and right with your generic list of useless solution. If I followed any of them I’d probably destroy my website within a minute. And no it is not permalink issue.
My questions/suggestions to you are were an effort to gather information about your site since you did not provide it in your one line question.
I (or any other volunteer that gives you their time for free) has no idea of what your setup is or your level of compentence.
I have much better things to do with my time that offer to help someone who clearly has no respect for others. So don’t worry, I’ll unsubscribe from this thread and wish you good luck with getting any help.
@bahus01, I think you should consider getting support elsewhere (other than WordPress.org), because the WordPress.org forums don’t allow you control over who will support you.
It’s also best to use the right avenues for the level of support that you expect. For example, you’ve noted that you could break your website by trying to debug it. We can’t debug it for you, all we can do is give recommendations for you. So, it would be fair to recommend that you consider hiring someone to look into this.
Please try http://jobs.wordpress.net/ or http://directory.codepoet.com/ and do not accept any hire offers posted to these forums.
I hope that no volunteer in future receives a response like the one you posted to @juggledad. You could make someone quit wanting to help out by saying something like that.
*Raises hand*
@bahus01 I’ve deleted your last reply and only have this to add: Honey works better than vinegar at catching flies.
If you want to receive help here please maintain a civil attitude.
Now, what have you tried to sort out your problem, meaning what steps have you taken?
@jan Dembowski, To begin with there is nothing to debug on my end because mraid is mobile rich media ads that run in mobile apps and has nothing to do with mobile web environment be it WP or anything else. For it to work mraid.js needs to be installed on a user mobile device, not on a website.

I was curious if anyone else has seen http://website.com/postname/mraid.js 404 not found and what possibly could cause it.As for you deleting my previous reply, there was nothing uncivil in it except calling juggledad and Andrew’s replys pure nonsense because that’s what they are. Trying to apply one fit all solution without understanding what the problem is and potentially causing a damage.
