import breaking site url

hi there.

When I started importing a copy of my site into a new directory on the same root, it got stuck in the updating database phase. Now the site is a white page, and the login redirects to a strange url with an extra directory added in it that doesn’t exist.

So instead of this:

http://www.site.com/dev_site/wp-admin?afoinehlblahblahblah

it looks like this:

http://www.site.com/dev_site/dev_site/wp-admin?afoinehlblahblahblah

Any advice would be appreciated.
