Media Upload and Plugin Update errors

    When I try to upload an image into my library I keep getting errors stating:
    The uploaded file could not be moved to wp-content/uploads/2015/09.

    Also, when I try to update my plugins, I get errors saying:
    Downloading update from https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/easy-google-fonts.zip…

    An error occurred while updating Easy Google Fonts: Could not create directory. easy-google-fonts

    I only have 5 plugins installed:
    1) Askimet
    2) Easy Google Fonts
    3) SI captcha
    4) Thrive Visual Editor
    5) Yoast SEO

    This problem just started today and before this I did not have any issues. Any help here?
