    Hi there,

I’d like to implement a social contest to my events using Contesthopper but I can’t figure out a way to make it work.

Here’s how I tried to do it :
    1) Creation of a contest in Contesthopper plugin to generate a shortcode
    2) Insertion of the shortcode in the RSVP form in replacement of the RSVP form (using CSS display: none to hide the form)
    3) Testing if it works

Results : the contest does show up in the event page but when submitting the application to the contest, the page reloads but the submission never happens.

    Thanks for the help 🙂

Don’t hide the form but don’t use it totally by not using the placeholder #_ADDBOOKINGFORM
After that any other form should work fine on it’s own (I don’t know contesthopper though)

Hi, indeed, it makes sense. It does work now by inserting the shortcode into the “notes” part (at the bottom of it per example).

Now, is it possible to have a custom placeholder for the contest shortcode, so I can place it anywhere I want in the events page using the “default layout” parameters in the “Events” tab in settings?

    Thanks in advance 🙂

Adding it to the ‘event list format’ should work fine.

    Hi Franky,

If I am correct, adding it to the “event list format” would mean that the contest would appear for every event, wouldn’t it ?

I’d like to have it on specific events only, is there a way to do it?

The events list format is for showing a list of events. You can change that in the generic EME settings or use a template (see the doc) so you can have a different format per occurence of the shortcode.
If you want to change it for specific events, change either the single event format in the settings, or change the layout per event upon editing.

OK thanks, I tried, it should work as intended 🙂
