Hi, I hope you can help as I’m getting myself very confused! Your plugin should, in theory, do exactly what I need it to: my main content is sometimes shorter than my right sidebar so the background colour and right border of the main content doesn’t extend far enough. I’ve tried your plugin with what I thought to be the correct selectors but it doesn’t seem to work as I’m probably not selecting the correct thing.

However, although I originally designed the website it was built by someone else (who I can no longer contact) and they seem to have written css to solve this problem but I’m not sure what it’s doing. When I firebug it it seems such a muddle of clearfixes, rows before and afters and to be honest, I don’t really know what that all means but I suspect it might not work with your plugin.

Here is an sample page which shows the problem: http://ernestcooktrust.org.uk/learning-outside-the-classroom/how-it-can-work-for-your-school/. It’s not an issue when the sidebar is shorter than the main content as the background is the same colour.

I’d be happy to buy you guys several beers if you can help me out!

    Many thanks

    Hi Lesley,

Looks like you didn’t quite have the selectors right. Try this instead: <cod>.main-content-home, #sidebar2. Works for me when I try to run the code on your site.

Hi Mickey, thanks for your reply. Having put this off for more than a month with no solution, I was going to have to tackle it some other way but then you replied.

At first I thought it was working perfectly and was just about to reply to say thanks. Then I discovered a problem. It works on pages like this http://ernestcooktrust.org.uk/learning-outside-the-classroom/resources-and-links/ which is just straight-forward content. However, on pages like this http://ernestcooktrust.org.uk/grants/ where some of the content in the main content area displays posts, it pushes the right sidebar content down to below the bottom of the main text area. I have taken some screen shots to demonstrate but I’m not sure I can upload them here. Although this particular page doesn’t actually need your plugin, others do and I can’t be selective on where it is used.

Any ideas how I can get around this? Your help is much appreciated.
