• Sorry. I am new to all of this. I would like to have pictures in my posts that when clicked on, open a lightbox and begin a meteor slides slideshow.

I can get images opening into a lightbox using Lightbox Plus Colorbox. I also have a nice meteor slide slideshow going on my home page. Thing is, how can I get a meteor slideshow going in a lightbox?

Do I change the a href link? If so, is there a url location for the meteor slides? I am guessing not… Apologies, like I said I am new to this.

    Thanks,
    Daniel

Hi Daniel, Meteor Slides is intended to be loaded right on the page as an inline element using the template tag, shortcode, or slideshow widget.

Technically you can load whatever you want in a lightbox, including a slideshow, but it would be something custom and could give you issues. Lightbox Plus Colorbox supports HTML lightboxes, where you can tell it to load a certain div container or the contents of a certain page. So you could either create a different page template with just the lightbox content and load that. Or you can add the lightbox content right to the page the lightbox should load on, but hide it on the page and only load it in the lightbox.

But this is pretty custom and not worth the trouble unless you need a very custom slideshow in a lightbox, like something with custom slideshow captions.

If you just want something that is simple to manage and gives you a lightbox sildeshow gallery for displaying photos or something. You can do this out of the box with Lightbox Plus Colorbox, look at the Primary Lightbox with WordPress Gallery demo and below.

Or you can use Jetpack to do something like this:
