htaccess: Option MultiViews not allowed here

Having some issues with my configuration of W3T.

Every time I activate the plugin/clear cache, the site breaks down.
My server’s error log has one very common message:
htaccess: Option MultiViews not allowed here

Any advice on how to configure W3T to avoid this problem?
