Hi my friend, I am very interested in buying this plugin. However I need to trust at least in the free version for paying the pro one, but it seems that the deleting backup files after sent remotely is not working. It has the below description on the checking box, which I have checked, but the backup files are still staying on my server :-/

“Check this to delete any superfluous backup files from your server after
the backup run finishes (i.e. if you uncheck, then any files despatched
remotely will also remain locally, and any files being kept locally will
not be subject to the retention limits).”

Obs.: Everything is alright on google drive settings and working.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

Please can you provide a link to your log file for the problematic backup? (You can download it from the “Existing Backups” tab of your UpdraftPlus settings page).

It’ll be too long to paste into the forum here, but you can download it to your computer, and share it with Dropbox, or paste it in pastebin.com, or any similar service, and post the link here.

    Best wishes,
    David

I tried through pastebin and it has crashed ,y tab, so here it is: http://esites.pro/log.bcc8887b9065.txt
That is the last one I have, I found a previous one (http://esites.pro/log.33883dd40978.txt) that is written “53615.279 (28) Deleting local file: backup_2015-08-31-1407_Online_systems_and_marketing_33883dd40978-uploads.zip: OK” but it seems it has just stopped working :-/
Besides that I am seeing much more files locally than it was supposed to have. I am seeing at least two zips for files and sometimes no one for database. I am really wanting to buy this plugin. But if I can not trust on the free version I have available I am afraid of the paid one…
    Thank you!

Actually 65 ending is from 08/30 and 78 ending is from 01/09

And http://esites.pro/log.e38a23b6dbbf.txt is the real last one. On its records I see that it has deleted “8607.738 (20) Deleting local file: backup_2015-09-07-1414_Online_systems_and_marketing_e38a23b6dbbf-uploads.zip: OK” but it still has the following files locally:
    backup_2015-09-07-1414_Online_systems_and_marketing_e38a23b6dbbf-uploads2.zip
    backup_2015-09-07-1414_Online_systems_and_marketing_e38a23b6dbbf-uploads3.zip
    backup_2015-09-07-1414_Online_systems_and_marketing_e38a23b6dbbf-db.gz

My guess is that it is not deleting rest files if I check “split archives every: 500mb”. And the dates I have is not being the same as the control panel.

I will wait to see if it will still delete the last ones after I have changed the setting to be weekly backup and removes all the previous ones. But please, let me know your thoughts. Thank you!

hmm, even after I have deleted all the backups I had appearing on the control panel it still had some there, so I pressed “rescan local folder” and it found the other ones. All of them are appearing not finished. My guess is that because I am sending them remotely to google drive they were not having enough time to be created, sent and deleted. What do you think about it? Even the last one that started yesterday (Sep 07, 2015 14:14) is appearing “Not finished” for it…

    Hi Diego,

Your Google account quota is full; here’s the error in the log that Google Drive is sending back:

11912.523 (30) ERROR: Google Drive upload error (Google_Service_Exception): Error calling PUT https://www.googleapis.com/upload/drive/v2/files?uploadType=resumable&upload_id=AEnB2UqtflGFGvVHih5vzB1mHDKzgs9a0FbKAisOYWrxvbhUB9QIsvkb37tuYxsFLHTdoS5NewJGQARnyZzY7YYNvPm8IPSk6w: (403) The user has exceeded their Drive storage quota (line: 79, file: /home/culturc5/public_html/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/includes/Google/Http/REST.php)

Useful link: https://support.google.com/drive/answer/6558?hl=en – note that your Google account quota is shared with Google Mail and other services.

Ok, I have deleted some stuff there. Is it possible to request the plugin to resend “(Not finished)” backups to the remote storage? Thank you!

    Hi Diego,

There isn’t a feature for sending an old backup to storage; you will need to start a new backup.
