• I created a post which had the same keyword as one of my pages the page in question would then only show the new post not the page info, so i deleted the post now everytime i try and create a new page with this permalink it reverts to the blog post permalink thats been deleted.

  • Try deleting/clearing your Posts trash bin.

I’ve done that Colin both post bin and pages bin. But it still seems to be finding it from somewhere.

Weird, and sorry to be patronising (but I have to check) have you tried changing the URL manually (below the post title)?

No problem Colin, sometimes the best of us forget little things like that.
The URL on the page is exactly what it should be but when you view the page on line it goes to the other URL which was the blog post even though the blog post doesn’t exist now.
I’ve found a work around by using a custom link on the page so it’s working.
But if I change this page and create a new page with that URL it does exactly the same thing changes on line to the blog post URL.
