    Hi Christine,

We did some research and quite a few plugins clash with Optimize Press. See here:
    https://optimizepress.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/200553686-Incompatible-Themes-Plugins

As stated on that page’s video, they have a away to turn off other plugins while editing in the LiveEditor (leaving your posts and pages intact).

Thank you. I will try that fix. BTW — this is a new issue either because of recent upgrades of the plugin or WordPress.

I tried turning off the plugins via the Optimize Press feature, it didn’t work. The only way I can restore Optimize Press is to turn off the YouTube Embed Plus plugin 🙁

Same for me. Had to deactivate and find another solution.

    Please do the following:
    – Upgrade to version 10.7 and activate
    – Clear the Optimizer Cache
    – Login to your admin and see if the problem still persists.

If so, then check the new option found in the plugin settings page called Use Legacy Scripts. It should allow you to use the 10.5 style scripting while still keeping up with the most current version of the plugin.

I had 10.7 already installed and Use Legacy Scripts was activated. I did your troubleshooting steps prior to posting a couple of days ago.

I still can’t access the text editor in Optimize Press with the YouTube Embed plus plugin activated.

Just to make sure we’re on the same page–are you saying that the only time you see a problem (i.e. something not working properly) just while an admin is actually editing using the Live Editor?

Does everything else about our plugin work fine besides that? For example, do your actual YouTube embeds work fine when a visitor visits your page, etc. etc. etc.?

We want to narrow down exactly what’s going on, so if you can also take a screenshot of what’s going wrong (and upload it to perhaps a service like http://imgur.com/ ) That would help greatly.

In addition, if you’re familiar with the Chrome Developer Tools error console, it would be great if you can send us any error text you might see there when using the live editor.

Since OptimizePress is a commercial plugin that is closed source, the more detail that you or your webmaster can provide the better we can help.

For me the only problem is that the text editor disappears entirely in the Live Editor and it doesn’t matter which element you select. If an element contains text and thus requires the text editor, it isn’t there even if you already have text and just want to edit it.

Christine is correct. In OP if I double click on a text element to edit text, if the YouTube embed plugin is active, the text to edit disappears along with the text editor. If I double click in an area to add text, the text editor isn’t available.

To answer your question about the front end working, yes it’s fine. I activated the plugin and went to my video library and all the videos were displayed in the proper layout as customized in the pro settings.

I also tried this.. with the plugin active, I went into an existing page, was able to select an element, check in boxes, choose options, type in the search bar of a page open in the live editor.

I clicked in a text area to edit text and this came up:
Use the WYSIWYG editor below to add content to your text block.

    but the editor wasn’t there.

I deactivated the plugin, went through the steps again and the editor appeared.

I’m working on a test site, so you are more than welcome to have access to my test environment if you want.

I’m so happy.. it’s all fixed. The EmbedPlus Team logged into my site and fixed everything up. There is a plugin update coming up which will fix this issue as a whole.

    Thank you so much!

Where can we get this patch? I have a similar text editor issue but only on my mac.
