• Hi guys,

Online i can still see the pictures which are placed in several portfolios (which are connected to galleries). But when i log in to my wordpress account i am unable to see the pictures in the gallery and change for example the order of them or delete/add pictures.
You can clearly see that all the folders in the portfolio contain pictures:

Printscreen of my wordpress wp-admin gallery:

Hope somebody can help me out, thanks!

That does not appear to be WordPress’s normal gallery controls.

Are you using a plugin to control your galleries? If so, which?

    Hello James,

Appreciate your help! I dont use any plugins for galleries. Only have 2 SEO plugins and a google maps plugin running on the website.

When i started the website, all the pictures of a gallery were lined up (in the printscreen) and i still was able to change the order, delete them, add extra taggs or whatever. Now i’m unable to control whats in the gallery or add any pictures.

Ok, either something is creating its own gallery dialog, or something is massively breaking WordPress’s gallery dialog. 🙂

Try deactivating *all* plugins (even the ones you think you absolutely need or couldn’t possibly be causing the problem). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fifteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Thanks again.

I deactivated the 3 plugins which are running on the website. But unfortunately this didnt make a difference.

The other solution which you mentioned sounds kinda risky, i dont want to lose the website how i set it up until now. Because if i switch to another theme, all the progress on this theme will be overwritten(deleted)?

Do you use a child theme?

Update/change theme and prepare to build up again. But keep the ‘old’ site’s templates so you can go back and have a look at them when you build the new one.

When something is totally wrong I always start with deactivating the plugins and then activate them one by one. But updating to a new theme etc has always solved any kind of error! It just takes some extra time, but well worth it.

Switching a theme is safe, you can safely switch and switch back from Appearance -> Themes in your blog’s Dashboard in a minute or two.

You don’t need to setup a child theme or anything else, just don’t delete your theme when you switch away from it for a minute or two. 🙂
