Tick the Enable ban users checkbox.
Copy\paste any ip addresses from the Ban Hosts field into notepad.
Then remove all ip addresses from the Ban Hosts field.
Save All Changes.
If that makes the Enable ban users checkbox stick, start adding the ip addresses from notepad one by one.
Save All Changes after adding an ip.
Also please confirm you are using the latest iTSec plugin release (4.9.0).

what is iTSec. why do I need to use it too.
iTSec is the abbreviation for iThemes Security …
Saves 10 keystrokes …
dwinden
ok, i have the latest
i figured out the problem. for some reason i had a white list ip in the ban users. so i guess iTSec has a loop that catches this so you don’t ban a white list ip. i guess i may have copied it in the ban users for some stupid reason when i put it in the white list too. otherwise i have no idea why i did it. it works good now though
@fowlerwp
Thank you for that feedback.
You are correct the iTSec plugin crosschecks any whitelisted ip address with the ip addresses listed in the Ban Hosts field.
Weird you didn’t get any error message pointing you in the right direction …
Anyway the issue seems to be resolved so please mark this topic as ‘resolved’.

Ah, ok that explains it.
